Introductory OWP course. Communication Skills and Tools

This is an introductory course for students taking the Master’s. The student gains knowledge on Work, Organisational and HR Psychology and the contexts in which general research methods are applied. It considers topics such as professional and research skills in Work, Organisational and HR Psychology, the European Diploma in Psychology model, the ENOP reference model, ethical issues in professional practice and research. Furthermore, students will work on communication skills, the production of scientific reports and presentations.

Contents:

  • Introduction. Introductory session for Master’s participants and coordination and support staff.
  • General outline of the administrative and academic structure of the Master’s.
  • European context, demands and research areas, and professional placements in OWP.
  • Professional skills in OWP. The European Diploma in Psychology model.(European Diploma in Psychology - EDP)
  • OWP research skills. General outline.
  • Reference model for OWP training developed by the ENOP (European Network of Work and Organisational Psychologists).
  • Types and areas of knowledge in OWP (explicative and interventional approaches)
  • Professional practice and research ethics in OWP.
  • European and international OWP organisations which operate research and professional placements.

Information and communication skills: qualitatively taking information from the internet to produce hypertextual and audiovisual training materials and documents; optimising communication on the internet/intranet; the creation and maintenance of virtual classrooms; familiarising students with e-business, e-commerce, and e-learning environments; carrying out research online; encrypting documents and personal files. Presentations, production of reports, and the analysis of scientific documents.
